A WOMAN has died following a two-car crash in Leicestershire with the second driver in a “serious” condition.
Police were called to Ashby Road in Measham at 1.12pm today by Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service who were already at the scene.
The collision involved a silver Mercedes-Benz and a black Bentley.
Paramedics attended to a woman who was travelling in the Mercedes car.
Sadly the woman, who was in her 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The male driver of the Mercedes, who is in his 60s, has been taken to hospital where he currently remains in a serious but stable condition.
No other serious injuries have been reported.
An investigation remains ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the collision.
Detective Constable Hal Kinsey, from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing at the scene and we are appealing to anyone with any information, who has not yet spoken to us, to make contact.
“If you saw the collision, or if you saw either of the vehicles travelling beforehand, please get in touch with us.
“If you have any dashcam footage from the area at the time, please also make contact with us.”
